Mr Robinson graduated from the Queensland University in 1969. His experience with uranium commenced in 1972 when he joined consultants F Raymond Gordon and Associates working on various commodities including uranium. He was the geologist on the earliest work on the Mundong Well uranium deposit in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.

From 1973 to late 1975 he was a project geologist for Uranerz Australia Ltd. This was at the grass roots of early uranium exploration in Australia and he led the initial reconnaissance of most of the uranium provinces in western and eastern Australia. With the then involvement of the Federal Labor government in uranium he joined the Australian Atomic Energy Commission late in 1975 as a member of the uranium exploration team in the Northern Territory. Soon after the Federal Labour Government was forced from office he joined Urangesellschaft Australia (UGA) in 1976 as Project Manager for the eastern states of Australia and Western Australia. This involved uranium project generation and management. Later, as Operations Manager Australia he was involved in uranium project generation and management Australia wide. This included representing UGA’s interest in a number of joint venture projects in Australia with international (French, Italian, Japanese, British) and Australian companies.

With the withdrawal of most international companies from uranium projects in Australia, Mr Robinson formed a consultancy company in 1984. From 1984 the consultancy managed various gold and base metal projects in Western Australia. However, as a consultant he completed a detailed appraisal of the uranium potential of the Pine Creek Geosyncline, Northern Territory including the East Alligator Rivers Uranium Field, which hosts large and high grade uranium deposits.

As the global interest in uranium re-emerged, Mr Robinson from 2005 has consulted and advised a number of new uranium explorers and developers. These have included Uranex NL, Nova Energy Ltd and Bullion Minerals Ltd (now Uranium Equities Ltd). He is also consulting to Dioro Exploration Ltd and CVRD (Brazil).
